Description

General Electric’s DS200TCQAG1B RST Analog I/O Board is part of the Mark V Series, which is utilized in gas turbine control systems. The Analog IO Board scales and conditions many of the analog signals read in by terminal boards installed on the I/O cores R1, R2, and R3 (TCQA).

This list includes signals such as LVDT inputs, servo valve outputs, thermocouple inputs and outputs, 420 mA inputs and outputs, vibration inputs, relay driver outputs, pulse inputs, voltage inputs, and generator and line signals.

Some of the signals are written to the STCA board through the 3PL connection. The JE connection is used to communicate with the TCQC board by transmitting and receiving generator and line signals. The TCQA board scales and conditions 420 mA input signals such as compressor stall detection and fuel flow pressure.

The mA output circuits are selected using the hardware jumpers J1 and J2. J5 and J6 are used to configure the mA output current range, which can be either 20 mA or 200 mA maximum. J7 employs the RS232 port for card testing. J8 starts an oscillator. Appendix A and the operator interface’s hardware jumper panel contain information about the hardware jumper settings for this board.

The TCQA board contains the circuitry that changes and conditions the pulse rate inputs to read from the TCQC board through the JE connection. TTL (transistor to transistor logic) and magnetic pickup inputs deliver these signals to the QTBA and/or PTBA terminal boards. The “R1” core receives high-pressure shaft speed inputs. Other signals can be used in conjunction with the pulse rate input circuits on R2 and R3.

The TCQA board provides the circuitry for the 420 mA and 01 mA input signals. The signals from the TBQC terminal board are read via the JB connection. The voltage drop across the burden resistor, induced by the transducer’s current drop, is measured and written to the I/O Engine through the 3PL connection by the TCQA board. The TBQC terminal board’s hardware jumpers are used to choose the current range of the input signals.

The TCQA board provides the circuitry for driving 420 mA outputs to the TBQC terminal board through the JB connection. These signals are typically used to power control devices.

The thermocouples are connected to the TBQA terminal board. The thermocouple cold junction reference, which TCQA uses to calculate cold junction compensation, is given by circuits contained on the TBQA terminal board.

The TCQA board uses the thermocouple input and compensation setting to calculate the actual temperature measured by the thermocouple. The I/O Engine reads the value through the 3PL connection. The kinds and curves of thermocouples are chosen using I/O configuration constants.
